Starting in January Chamberlain’s new contract will be to supply turbocharger bearing housings for diesel engines. They will be made at its Chuckery Road site in Walsall.
The contract with a leading European supplier in the Automotive sector will secure work for existing staff in their Walsall site, and create further opportunities in the months to come.
Chamberlain and Hill employ more than 400 people across the UK and the extra work is expected to increase revenue by over £1.3m this year.
It’s original foundry was established in 1890 in Walsall and the company has since expanded its services across the UK.
As with many other manufacturing firms the past year has been a difficult one, however with the recent upturn in growth across the region things are looking up for the firm, with a prediction to return to profitability in 2015.
This success is reflected across the Midlands as a whole as outlined in the recent MAS barometer report which states that confidence in the manufacturing industry is at an all time high.
