West Midlands Manufacturing: GTP Engineering New Equipment Investment Delivers Efficiency And Savings For Customers

Wolverhampton, West Midlands – According to a recent interview with Mark Brunt, the marketing director of GPT Engineering, within the past 3 years the company has made two hefty private investments in new equipment that include 2 new Star CNC Machines. The company hopes to increase efficiency and productivity whilst bringing in more work. The company made its first £140,000 Star Machine investment in 2012. The benefits of the new equipment made an immediate impact, which led to the company’s second Star Machine investment just 6 months later.

The company began to see increased efficiency when building smaller parts regardless of order size, flexibility, and a more cost-effective solution for the company’s customers. The increased dependency on the new equipment to complete tasks in a more timely-manner reduces productivity time whilst reducing the need for manual labour. The immense amount of time saved completing orders thanks to the new equipment allows for more time to take on more work. It is the time saved that has also reduced the cost for customers.

Although the company saw visible results within the first 6 months of its first investment in 2012, things have just begun to really take off within the past 12 months thanks to the new equipment. Turn-around times are generally rapid, with the ultimate goal of getting orders out as quickly as possible, taking the orders as soon as they come through. Before taking on an order the company will offer its customers with an estimated time frame for completion and work rapidly to meet these deadlines.

This effective efficiency increases productivity and gets the company ready for its next order in a timely-manner. The time for completion of an order will vary depending upon the size of the order. The company gives a general estimate of 7-14 days or longer for order completion, again, depending upon order size. In December 2014, the company began looking around for a third Star Machine to invest in with the hopes of continued growth in the year-to-come.
